Coming to an End

It is great to know that there are only 2 weeks left until the summer, but it is hard at the same time. This is when you have to finsh up a ton assisgnments, and new ones still keep coming. Alos, you have to study for finals. The weather is finally so nice that you don't even want to do any of your work. I have had some reliefs thsi week though. i did really well on my efolio. That is such a huge weight off of my shoulders. Also, for as fun as it is, the Fitt Club's time at the YMCA is coming to an end. This will give me just a little bit more time to get everything done. Since our blogging is due today I don't know how much I will be on here, but I hope you all have a great summer!!! :)

Exercise Science Fitness

Tomorrow I am going with some other Phys. Ed. majors to run the Exercise Science fitness program. This is where the Fitt Club got its idea for our group fitness. We are playing frisbee games, and when I was looking I found some really good ones. I did not relaize though, that you can play rounders with almost anything. When I had to teach it as a lesson, we played it with a bat and ball, so it was really close to basbeall. I found a frisbee version of rounders though. It is the same, but you use the firsbee. The batter throws it rather than there being a bowler. Also, there is a coordination game that allows teams to amke wobbly throws to try and score points, while the other team can only catch with one hand. Frisbee games are great for phys. ed. classes because they require very little, if any extra equipment, and they are great to play outdoors.

Pod Cast

Our Podcasts are due today, and it feels good to have something else done in this class!!! If you get a chance, you should all listen to mine and Brandi's podcast!!! We love it! We did a test review for a health realted fitness test for students in 9th and 10th grade. Also, we used this to review Fitnessgram testing. This was a good review for us for fitness ed.. We really wanted to blog on the Pens, but it's ok because what we did turned out really well. Brandi put it on her Ipod and listens to it all the time!! HAHA!!!!

All Done!!!

What a great feeling to be done with my efolio!! It feels like such a weight has been lifted. And this week isn't that bad because of Mini Convention. The rough part about that is that I am presiding the 8 am session. That won't be too bad though. I am glad the semester is winding down. I love being at SRU, and I love my P.E. classes, but I need to be on the beach as fast as I can. It's my favorite place to be there, and I can't wait!!!!!!

E Folio

I have locked myself in my room for a few hours now, and have been doing nothign but my E-Folio. It isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I have gotten a lot more done than I would have thought, but I still have a lot more to go. I have to go to the library tonight and scan everything, and I know that will take a lot of time. I really am trying to make this really good the first time that I do it, so when Senior Sem. rolls around I won't want to redo it. I am so tired fo looking at the computer screen, but I am listening to the Spice Girls so I guess that makes it ok!!! :)

Shoulder Injury

As if scheduling wasn't hectic enough, I now have to work around a shoulder injury. I can only take classes that will be easy on my left shoulder because I am getting surery May 16th. I have always had problems with it, but I recently went to the doctor and finally got it checked out. i found out that I have too muc space in my shoulder capsule, and that my muscles and joints are hyper-extended. So, they are going to tighten my muscles and shave down my clavical bone. Also, I found out that I tore my laibrim, so they are going to have to fix that as well. I will be in a sling for 6 weeks, and will have a few months of recovery. I guess that it is just something that I am going to have to get used to.

YMCA

Again the FITT Club went to the YMCA in New Castle, and this time I felt like we really accomplished something. We started off with a getting to know you game, because there were several new students. I played the tiolet paper game with them, and I also learned a lot abou them that I didn't know. Then we played a game of volleyball, and finally everyone got off the bleachers and played. This was one of the best things I have ever seen. It has been so frustrating watching some of the students just sit there rather than being active. They were all really good at it, and we actually got a good game going. I hope that when we go again in April, we can do another activity that will once again get them all involved. It is important that we go because not only do we get the kids active, but we also talk to them about problems they may be having. I think that Career Links is 9a really great program!
