The Piston Cup
In Fitness Ed. we were asked to find a warm up that would be appropriate for the elementary level to share with the class. I found one on PeCentral called The Piston Cup. It is a standar circut warm up, but it invloves the racing aspect and music that is found in the movie. I think that warm ups like this one are great for young kids becuase it relates to something that they are interested in (like the movie Cars), and because of that they will want to be more active in the gym. These activites encourage the kids to be more active, and they will want to do this more than just run a few laps around the gym. I personally love the movie, and could watch it everyday! This is hands down my favorite warm up so far!!!

I totally agree with you about kids needing to be interested in something so that they will be more motivated to be active. I think music is a great way to get kids moving. Also music is a good tool to let kids start and stop an activity. As future teachers is our job to come up with new and exciting ideas for the classroom.
haha. i did that when i had movement ed last semester. i had slautterback, it was a fun class. it's better than math.
